Shelby Kearns graduated from Texas A&M University with a business degree and holds an M.A. in the Humanities from the University of Chicago. For over four years, her husband was an Army Field Artillery officer, a job that took them to Fairbanks, Alaska, and Lawton, Oklahoma. In Alaska, she conducted communications, training, and outreach for the Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living, an organization that provides a shelter, affordable housing, and other programs and services. Shelby joined CASA Marion as a community engagement staff member after her husband’s exit from the Army. In her free time, she participates in reading groups and is an active parishioner at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
